1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the SeedTree platform — including the website at seedtree.com.au, the web application at app.seedtree.com.au, and the SeedTree Mental Maths iOS app (collectively, the "Services") — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

If you are using the Services on behalf of a school or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Description of Services

SeedTree is an adaptive mathematics education platform. We provide:

  • Structured practice exercises aligned with Australian curriculum standards
  • Student progress tracking and error analysis for teachers
  • AI-powered concept understanding verification
  • Google Classroom integration for assignment distribution and grade synchronisation
  • Seed Points reward system to motivate student practice

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

You must sign in using a Google account. By signing in, you authorise us to receive your name, email address, and profile information from Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.

3.2 Account Types

  • Teacher accounts — can create classes, assign exercises, view student data, and connect Google Classroom
  • Student accounts — can complete exercises, earn Seed Points, and view their own progress
  • Parent accounts — can view their child's progress data

3.3 Student Accounts

Student accounts are created by teachers or school administrators. If you are a teacher creating student accounts, you represent that you have appropriate consent or authority (e.g., through your school's policies) to create accounts on behalf of your students.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any purpose other than legitimate educational activities
  • Share your account credentials or allow unauthorised access
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Services
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Services using automated means
  • Use student data for non-educational purposes

5. Google Classroom Integration

By connecting your Google Classroom account, you authorise SeedTree to:

  • Read your Google Classroom courses, topics, and rosters
  • Create coursework (assignments) in your Google Classroom courses
  • Update student grades for SeedTree-created assignments

You can revoke this access at any time through your SeedTree settings or your Google account permissions. Upon disconnection, SeedTree will delete stored Google Classroom tokens within 30 days.

6. Seed Points

Seed Points are a virtual reward earned by completing practice exercises. Seed Points:

  • Have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash
  • May be used within the platform for educational rewards as determined by teachers
  • Are non-transferable between accounts
  • May be adjusted by teachers or administrators for educational purposes

7. Intellectual Property

All content, exercises, curriculum materials, software, and branding within the Services are owned by SeedTree or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Teachers retain ownership of any original content they create within the platform (e.g., custom exercise descriptions or class notes).

8. Pricing and Payment

8.1 Free Tier

SeedTree offers a free tier for schools and teachers, which includes access to core practice exercises and basic student progress tracking.

8.2 Paid Features

Advanced features (such as detailed analytics, AI-powered concept verification, and additional exercise libraries) may require a paid subscription. Pricing is published on our website and may be updated with 30 days' notice.

8.3 Payments

Payments are processed through Square. By subscribing, you agree to Square's terms of service. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually as selected).

8.4 Refunds

We offer a 30-day refund policy for new subscriptions. After 30 days, refunds are provided at our discretion. To request a refund, contact [email protected].

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". While we strive for accuracy in our mathematics content and reliability in our platform, we do not warrant that:

  • The Services will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • All mathematical content is free from errors (though we actively review and correct any reported issues)
  • The Services will meet all specific educational requirements of every school or curriculum

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, SeedTree's total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Australian Consumer Law.

11. Termination

  • By you — you may stop using the Services and request account deletion at any time
  • By us — we may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable
  • Effect — upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases. You may request an export of your data before deletion (see our Privacy Policy)

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales, subject to any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
